Welcome to the Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at Chrisland University. Our programme is dedicated to exploring the chemical processes and substances that occur within living organisms. By integrating both biological and chemical sciences, we prepare students for exciting careers in biochemistry and related fields, where they can contribute to groundbreaking discoveries and innovations in health, industry, and environmental science.
The B.Sc. degree program in Biochemistry provides students with a broad and balanced foundation of biochemical knowledge and practical skills. It aslo equips students with the ability to apply knowledge and skills at solving theoretical and practical problems in biochemistry, instilling in students a sense of enthusiasm for biochemistry, an appreciation of its application in different contexts and to involve them in an intellectually stimulating and satisfying experience of learning and studying. The normal period for an honors degree shall be eight (8) semesters. It has duration of four years for students admitted with the Ordinary Level Certificate, and three years for those with Advance Level Certificates.
UTME Admission
Candidate seeking admission for B.Sc Degree in Biochemistry must have at least five credits in the Senior secondary school certificate examination (SSCE) including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology at not more than two sittings. These candidates are required to answer questions in Chemistry, Biology and either Physics or Mathematics in addition to the English Language in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME).
Direct Entry
Candidates who, in addition to the five relevant credits passes at SSCE or O’Level, with a satisfactory pass grade at A’Level in Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics, or Biology, OND Upper Credit (Science Laboratory Technology, Food Technology) may be considered for exception from the equivalent courses in the program.
