The University Security Unit is an arm of the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, and it is supervised by the Chairman, Council Committee on Security. It consists of proficiently physically, mentally and intellectually fit men and women who are saddled with the responsibility of providing an enabling environment for the day – to day running of the university.

It implements and enforces the university’s rules and regulations, arrests any act militating against the relative peace on campus, investigates and prosecutes alongside the Legal unit offenders and offences against the university.

Security Policies

The University Security Policy statements guide in ensuring safety of all employees, clients (Parents and Students), visitors, contractors etc at all times within the premises and its immediate environment. It puts in place standard and adequate security structure, procedure and equipment to safeguard university assets, infrastructure as well as those of our clients and visitors. The Policy also ensures prompt and efficient collection, collation and dissemination of security information between the university and its stakeholders such as Staff, Students, Contractors, Visitors and other friends of the university. During emergencies, there are Muster Points at designated areas within the campus premises, where both staff and students assembled for head count. The university has Zero tolerance for drug use and abuse, thereby fostering a cordial relationship with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to combat the menace of drug abuse on campus. The university also maintains a cordial working relationship with other government Security agencies such as, Police, Department of State Services (DSS), Fire Service, etc while operating within the limit of Ogun State government and Federal government of Nigeria.

Security Infrastructure

This can be described as security measures designed to deny unauthorized access to facilities, equipments and resources to protect personnel and property from harm or damage, theft or any form of attack such as espionage or terrorist attack. It involves the use of multiple layers of interdependent systems, such as but not limited to the following: Security guards, Protective barriers, Locks, Close Circuit Television (CCTV) surveillance, Patrol dogs, Access control protocols and Vehicle height-restrictor (barrier).
