The Department of Computer Science at Chrisland University has a rich history dating back to the inception of the university in 2015. Initially established as an arm of the Department of Physical Sciences within the College of Natural and Applied Sciences (CNAS), the Computer Science program has since evolved into a distinguished academic division dedicated to producing highly skilled professionals in the field.

Over the years, the department has witnessed steady growth in student enrollment, reflecting its reputation for delivering quality education and training. Our program is designed to offer students a comprehensive understanding of both the theoretical principles and practical applications of computer science. Through hands-on training and engaging coursework, students develop the skills necessary to tackle diverse challenges and innovate in various domains.

As a testament to our commitment to academic excellence, our program adheres to the National Universities Commission (NUC)'s Benchmark for Minimum Academic Standards and meets global requirements for a degree in Computer Science. At the heart of our department's philosophy is the belief in fostering a passion for computer science and equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in today's digital age. Our objectives are clear: to instill in students an appreciation for the capabilities of computer science, provide an intellectually stimulating learning experience, and cultivate a broad and balanced education in the field.

We aim to develop in our students a range of transferable skills applicable to various industries and contexts, ensuring they are well-prepared for future endeavors. Our vision is ambitious yet achievable: to become the leading department in research and teaching, driving economic growth through information and communication technology (ICT). To fulfill this vision, we are dedicated to stimulating sustained interest in computer science, providing top-notch training to our students, and conducting groundbreaking research that pushes the boundaries of the field.

By integrating innovation into our curriculum and collaborating across disciplines, we aim to make significant contributions to both academia and industry. In essence, the Department of Computer Science at Chrisland University is not just a place of learning; it is a hub of innovation, discovery, and transformation. We invite you to join us on this exciting journey as we shape the future of computer science and make a positive impact on society.

Our department comprises three major programmes: Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, and Computer Science. These programmes have been specifically designed to provide students with a strong foundation in computing and information technology, and to equip them with the necessary skills to succeed in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

As a department, we are committed to providing a stimulating and challenging academic environment that encourages creativity, innovation, and critical thinking. We aim to instill in our students a passion for learning and problem-solving, and to equip them with the necessary tools and resources to excel in their chosen fields.
