Philosophy, Objective and Vision of the Department
Philosophy
The broad philosophy of training in Medical Laboratory Science is:
a) To provide sound academic and professional background for the production of Medical Laboratory Scientists who would be capable of working anywhere in Nigeria and outside the country.
b) To produce Medical Laboratory Scientists who can provide quality service in Medical diagnostic and research laboratories and satisfy internationally recognizable standards and able to undertaken further training nationally and internationally towards specialization.
c) To produce Medical Laboratory Scientists with resources and manpower management ability, and skills to play a leadership role in training and the practice of Medical laboratory science.
Mission
To produce seasoned Medical Laboratory Scientists who are capable of meeting medical laboratory diagnostic, research, production and teaching needs thereby contributing to improving health system needs and development at local, national and global levels.
Vision
To train Medical Laboratory Scientists having required theoretical and practical skills needed to respond to national and global health needs.
