Chrisland University Sets Three Health Inductions: Medical Laboratory Science (22 Oct), Nursing Science (24 Oct), and Nigeria’s First Doctor of Physiotherapy (25 Oct 2025)
Across three ceremonies from 22–25 October 2025, Chrisland University, Abeokuta, will induct graduates of Medical Laboratory Science (22 Oct), Nursing Science (24 Oct), and the nation’s first cohort of Doctor of Physiotherapy (25 Oct)—a coordinated milestone for Nigerian health-sciences training.
Chrisland University, Abeokuta, will host a triad of professional induction ceremonies on campus, each accorded equal prominence: Medical Laboratory Science—Wednesday, 22 October 2025; Nursing Science—Friday, 24 October 2025; Doctor of Physiotherapy—Saturday, 25 October 2025. Together, these events signal the University’s integrated advance in health sciences education and a national landmark with the formal induction of Nigeria’s first Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT) graduates.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oyedunni Sola Arulogun, lauded the coordinated series, noting that, “From Medical Laboratory Science on 22 October, through Nursing Science on 24 October, to the historic Doctor of Physiotherapy induction on 25 October, Chrisland University is demonstrating a whole-system commitment to professional excellence. These three ceremonies—sequenced within one week—reflect our focus on innovation, rigorous training, and global standards across all health programmes, preparing graduates for leadership in prevention, diagnosis, rehabilitation, and patient-centred care.”
In a joint statement, Professor Augustine Onyeaghala (Dean, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences) and Professor Funmilayo Okanlawon (Dean, Faculty of Nursing) emphasised that the three inductions collectively showcase depth and breadth: “Medical Laboratory Science (22 Oct) underscores our uncompromising bench-to-bedside quality; Nursing Science (24 Oct) affirms compassionate, ethically grounded clinical practice; and the Doctor of Physiotherapy (25 Oct) advances rehabilitation science and interprofessional teamwork. Across all three, our teaching, mentoring, and clinical partnerships prioritise competence, character, and community impact.”
Dignitaries and regulators—including the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN), the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN), and the Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board of Nigeria (MRTBN)—are expected at the ceremonies, which anchor Chrisland University’s mission to deliver transformative, practice-ready education. By aligning 22, 24, and 25 October into a single, high-impact week, the University places equal emphasis on diagnostics, nursing care, and rehabilitation excellence—developing professionals poised to strengthen health systems locally and globally.
