SPECIAL RELEASE ON FEDERAL GOVERNMENT’S DIRECTIVE ON THE CLOSURE OF ALL UNIVERSITIES DURING THE UPCOMING 2023 GENERAL ELECTIONS

In compliance with the Federal Government’s directive throughthe National Universities Commission (NUC), the Senate of the University at its 27th meeting held on Wednesday, 15th February, 2023 has directed that the University be shut down for physical academic activities from Wednesday 22nd February, 2023 to Tuesday 14th March, 2023.

In view of the above, all students are to vacate the University campus on Wednesday 22nd February, 2023 and to resume on Tuesday 14th March, 2023.

Meanwhile, during this closure, academic activities will continue on the University Learning Management System (LMS), hence, all academic staff and students who are yet to register on the LMS are hereby requested to do so.

All students are to note that upon resumption, they will be given one week of revision. First semester, 2022/2023 academic session examinations will commence on 20th March, 2023. Further information and examination timetable will be communicated through relevant channels in due course.

Distinguished Parents and General Public,
It has come to the attention of Chrisland University, that a suspected fraudster who goes by the name, Dr. Sylvester with the telephone numbers: 08147935431 and 07084178246, some other fraudulent individuals and impostors have been impersonating Professor (Mrs.) Chinedum Peace BABALOLA, the Vice-Chancellor of Chrisland University. Their intention is to extort money from unsuspecting individuals online, especially through the use of social media platforms like WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Facebook, text messages and telephone calls. Their fraudulent engagements are mostly on the sale of laptops, and employment contracts. Their acts are ignoble and vicious.
This is to inform the general public, particularly Nigerian tertiary institutions that, Professor (Mrs.) Chinedum Peace Babalola, the Vice-Chancellor of Chrisland University has nothing to do with any form of contracts or other claims being made online and offline by the criminals.
Professor (Mrs.) Chinedum Peace Babalola is a distinguished Professor of Pharmacokinetics/Pharmaceutical Chemistry, an award-winning professor, a laureate of the African Union, a lover of peace, and a devout Christian. She is the Vice-Chancellor of Chrisland University, and her major focus is and has remained steering the wheel of excellence in the school to ensure world-class value system, intellectual freedom, ethical standards, research, community service, and outstanding training of a new generation of leaders. Hence, she cannot be involved in fraudulent claims as are being made by the fraudsters.

By this disclaimer, Chrisland University is making it explicitly clear that Professor Chinedum Peace Babalola, its Vice-Chancellor, dissociates herself from all forms of fraudulent claims made with her name and office as the Vice-Chancellor of Chrisland University by any group of impostors online or offline.
The general public is hereby notified of this disclaimer and at the same time warned to be careful, as anyone who transacts with any of the impostors does so at his/her own risks.
