A Harvest Of Souls For Christ At Chrisland University's 2nd Baptismal Service
Nine Chrisland University students have made public commitments to devote their lives totally to Christ Jesus during a baptismal service on Sunday, 15th May, 2022. By this step of faith, the students subsequently signified their interest to be baptized according to the biblical faith and Christian doctrine.
The service was held at the University Chapel with students, faculty and staff in attendance.
A music team and talks by the University Chaplain, Rev. Juwon Onasanya commenced the service.
While addressing the audience and baptismal candidates, Rev. Juwon Onasanya said baptism is the initiatory rite of the church into her membership, adding that it is administered to old and young, male and female.
He added that baptism is obedience to the injunction of the Lord Jesus Christ that except one is born of water and the spirit; one cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Baptismal candidates lined up, arrayed in white robes, along the lighted stage and were introduced by the University Chaplain, Rev. Juwon Onasanya who baptized their students in a moving service that followed.
Rev. Juwon however admonished the baptismal candidates after receiving the sacrament of baptism, to submit themselves totally to the Lord and declare total rejection of the devil and all that is evil as they are now new creatures in Christ Jesus.
The newly baptized students include, Faith Onakalu, Blessing Ogunseye, Fidelia Kaizer, Samuel Oladeji, Favour Ama, Mary Temola, Dorcas Okeowo, Lydia Aiwuyuse, and Jeremiah Owolu.
Certificates were presented to the baptized students by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Mrs Chinedum Peace Babalola, FAS, who was represented by Dr. Lydia Chineyemba.
