Former President Obasanjo hosts Chrisland University VC, pledges support

The familiarization
visit, which took place at the prestigious Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential
Library in Abeokuta, Ogun State, marked a pivotal moment in fostering
educational and societal development partnerships.

Accompanied by key
members of her management team, Professor Arulogun, who was warmly received by
Chief Obasanjo and his aides, articulated her vision for Chrisland University
as a beacon of academic excellence and innovation. She highlighted the
institution’s strides in providing quality education and emphasized its
commitment to equipping students with skills for global relevance.
"Chrisland University is dedicated to nurturing leaders who will
contribute meaningfully to society," she affirmed.

Chief Obasanjo, in his
characteristic statesmanlike and jovial manner, lauded the university’s efforts
in advancing education in Nigeria. He underscored the critical role of private
universities in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical
application, while also fostering entrepreneurial mindsets.

The discussions delved
into areas of mutual interest, including youth empowerment, leadership
training, and the importance of instilling moral values in the younger
generation. Professor Arulogun and Chief Obasanjo explored potential
collaborations that could leverage the resources of the Presidential Library
and the academic expertise of Chrisland University to drive impactful community

the cornerstone of national development," Chief Obasanjo remarked, urging
institutions like Chrisland University to continue prioritizing excellence and

As part of the visit,
Professor Arulogun extended an invitation to Chief Obasanjo to serve as a
mentor and advisor for the university’s leadership. She also solicited his
support in facilitating partnerships with global institutions and funding
agencies to enhance the university’s infrastructure and research capabilities.

In a symbolic gesture of
goodwill, the Vice-Chancellor presented Chief Obasanjo with a commemorative
gift, reflecting the university’s appreciation for his enduring contributions
to Nigeria’s development and his support for education. Chief Obasanjo reciprocated
by gifting Professor Arulogun some memorabilia, underscoring the importance of
knowledge-sharing as a tool for nation-building.

The visit concluded on a
high note with group photographs capturing the camaraderie and shared
commitment to advancing the frontiers of education and leadership in Nigeria.
The entourage left the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library with renewed zeal
and optimism for future collaborations.
