The Vice-Chancellor of Chrisland University, Professor
Chinedum Peace Babalola on Tuesday 17th March, disclosed that discipline,
ethical behaviours and discouraging negative peer pressure were the secrets of
the peace being enjoyed in the University.
Professor Babalola made this disclosure while receiving members of Ogun State
Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) who had paid a courtesy call to the
University.
The Vice-Chancellor also mentioned that plans were underway for the University
to commence part-time programme in the Department of Criminology and Security
Studies which members of PCRC could benefit from. She further called on them to
intervene by informing the government about the dangers and threat to life
posed by trucks plying the Idi-Aba Ajebo road.
Venerable Dr. Samson K. Popoola JP, the Ag. State Chairman of PCRC who led the
team had in his comment stated that the committee was established in 1984 to
foster relationship between the police force and the people.
Some of the objectives of the visit were: to prepare the University for the new
Ogun State Comissioner of Police, Mr. Kenneth Ebrimso’s visit, to partner the
Univesity in establishing a professional security crash programme for members
of the committee and to engage in Community Social Responsibility by having a
Police Post situated close to the campus.
