Chrisland VC, Prof. Babalola Describes Governing Council Member, Prof. Falaye as an Administrator Par Excellence, Quintessential Christian with Academic Legacies
The Vice-Chancellor of Chrisland University, Abeokuta, Prof. Chinedum Peace Babalola has described one of the Institution’s Council Member, Prof. Augustine Eyiwumi Falaye, as an administrator par excellence and a quintessential christian with academic legacies.
Prof. Babalola was represented by the University Registrar, Mr. Samuel Omotoso at the 70th birthday thanksgiving service held at the International Conference Center, University of Ibadan on Saturday, 25th June, 2022 in honor of the Council Member.
According to Prof Babalola, Prof. Falaye is a spirit-filled man of faith who saw a Vice-Chancellor material in her.
“He is a prayer warrior and as part of the University Administration (Council Committee on Student Affairs, Chairman of Security, etc.), he always depended on God. He was one of those who saw a Vice-Chancellor material in me years ago, when i never had such dream, so i turned down the moves he made, until later and God’s appointed time”.
She commended his effective blend of godliness with rigours of academic work, adding that he has demonstrated a high level of professionalism.
On behalf of the Chancellor, High Chief Dr. Mrs Winifred Awosika, BOT members, the Governing Council, Staff and Students, felicitate him for his laudable achievements made possible by his unflinching resolve to touch humanity by providing leadership insight, direction, knowledge, wisdom, benevolence, and resourcefulness to huge number of people and organizations.
In her words, “May you continue to age gracefully in good health and sound mind”.
Prof Falaye is a Professor of Aquaculture, Fisheries Management and Sustainable Aquatic Environmental Development at the University of Ibadan and one of the foremost Professors of Aquaculture and Fisheries in Africa.
Prof. Falaye is a renowned scientist with expertise and wide experience in Africa and Europe. He has pioneered outstanding research with remarkable impact on sustainable indigenous fisheries production and nutrition, aquatic ecosystem development and climate change remediation on environmental resources.
Prof Falaye has consistently built a reputation on innovation practices and initiatives to increase productivity, efficiency and human capital at all levels of management, notably in capacity building and has successfully supervised 24 PhDs.
His valuable scientific contributions are evidenced in his over 150 publications. He has extensive editorial experience having proficiently reviewed manuscripts for various international scientific journals. He has served as External Assessor for the appointment of Professors in National and International Universities including Nigeria, Ghana, India, Sierra Leone and Malawi (1999 till date).
In Chrisland University, Prof. Falaye has continually exhibited professionalism in his contributions as a member of Governing Council, Committee on Security and Chairman of Council Committee on Staff and Student Handbook in the University.
