During the courtesy
visit, the Vice-Chancellor and the Commandant engaged in a fruitful discussion
on strategies to combat drug trafficking, abuse, and misuse. They emphasized
the need for intelligence sharing and joint operations to identify and
apprehend drug abusers, thereby preventing the influx of illicit drugs into the
University and its environs.

The duo also explored
the possibility of collaborative sensitization and awareness programs aimed at
educating students, staff, and the community about the dangers of drug abuse.
This initiative would involve expert lectures, workshops, and campaigns to
promote a drug-free lifestyle.

Furthermore, the
Vice-Chancellor and the Commandant discussed potential collaborative research
initiatives to understand the root causes of drug abuse among youths. This
research would inform evidence-based interventions and policy decisions to
address the menace.

the NDLEA. This comprehensive approach would ensure that those struggling with
addiction receive the necessary support to overcome their challenges.
