Chrisland University Matriculates 484 Students for New Academic Year


Chrisland University Abeokuta, during her 8th Matriculation Ceremony held at the Main Auditorium on Thursday, 16th February, 2023 formally admits a total of 484 fresh students out of which 35 of them are the pioneer Law students of the Institution.


The matriculating students could not hide their excitement as they were beautifully dressed in their academic gowns.


While commending the vision and mission statement of the Institution, the Guest Lecturer, Dr. Uju Agomoh underscored that Chrisland University remains the only University in Nigeria that has chosen to pilot the roles students could play to transform the world through intellectual freedom and culture, research, ethical standards and outstanding training of new generation of leaders.


She enjoined the students to be a global voice for transformation, and not to join the bandwagon of people with negativity, noting that education cannot be acquired without morals and ethical values.


In a remark, the Pro-Chancellor, Distinguished Professor Ayodeji Olukoju charged the students to remain steadfast in their academic sojourn, noting that the University would groom them to become a total student and develop important life-long skills in line with its mission.


The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Chinedum Peace Babalola while delivering her speech stressed that the ceremony marks the official entry of every student into higher institution of learning, adding that it is a statutory gathering to formally admit deserving and qualified candidates who are fortunate to be offered admission into Chrisland University.


She congratulated the students and their parents for being among people who are qualified to be part of Chrisland Family.


Prof. Babalola charged the matriculants to uphold the tenets of the matriculation oath and be guided by the rules and regulations contained in their student handbook¸ noting that their choices would determine their success and destiny.


The Vice-Chancellor equally lauded the JAMB Registrar and his staff for championing the fight against malpractices in the Board examinations.

She commended the Chancellor, High Chief Dr. (Mrs.) Winifred Awosika, OON, the Managing Director of Chrisland Schools, Mrs. Ibironke Adeyemi, the Board of Trustees Members, the Pro-Chancellor, Council Members and Staff for their efforts, vision, support, prayers and guidance and moral sustenance for the University.


Dignitaries at the occasion includes a Member of the Board of Trustees, Chief Olu Falomo, Member of Governing Council, Venerable Dele Okunuga, JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ish-aq Oloyede ably represented by the Head of Department, Matricultaion and Monitoring Unit (JAMB Office, Ogun State), Kafayat Ibiwoye, Ogun State Controller of the Nigeria Correctional Service, Abdulrasheed Alimi and his team, Divisional Police Officer, Kemta Division, CSP Adeniyi Adekunle ably represented by SP Obe Saibu and other important personalities.
