Chrisland University FC Net In Rain Of Goals, Defeat Egba Anglican Diocese FC 3 - 1
Chrisland University Football Club on Thursday showed the stuff they are made of when they defeated their opponent, Egba Anglican Diocesan Football Club three goals to one.
The friendly match took place in the opponent's home ground at Isale-Igbein, Abeokuta.
No sooner had the matched kicked off that the goals began to come in torrents.
About five minutes from the blast of the Referee's whistle, commencement of the match, Chrisland University's top striker, Temitayo(Tinaldo) netted in the first goal. It was through a pass from Peter Pedro.
Resplendent in their black and white Jerseys, the Chrisland players started jubilating, cheered on by their teeming supporters.
The goal made the opposition team struggle for the ball, with so many attempts but they were unlucky. The Anglican team struggled the more to no avail.
Afterwards another long pass came the way of highly enterprising Temitayo who again made Chrisland University proud with another beautiful goal. That was goal number 2.
The match further took on with anger and fury for the Anglican Team as they fouled one of Chrisland's forward player. But, the ensuing free kick didn't penetrate.
Several substitutions were made by both teams just to make sure everyone was able to participate.
Goal number 3 also came in later with Tunmise's hatrick ⚽️.
Moving on,a foul was conceded by the Chrisland team within the 18-yard box which was converted to a PENALTY.
The opposing Anglican boys took the penalty and they scored making it a 3-1 at the end of the first half.
Unfortunately, the second half ended without any goal🏆 following the rain which later poured in like torrents. And so, the Chrisland team carried the day, cheered on by Coach Fredrick and the University Chaplain, Rev Juwon Onasanya who accompanied the victorious team.
