Chrisland University Celebrates Egba Anglican Bishop, Rt. Rev Adekunle at 60

On the auspicious occasion of his 60th birthday, the Bishop of Egba Anglican Diocese, Rt. Rev. Emmanuel Adekunle has appreciated Chrisland University for acknowledging the grace of God upon his life and ministry by being one of the first corporate bodies to celebrate him and wish him well.

The Bishop spoke while receiving a delegation from the University led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Chinedum Peace Babalola, FAS, last Friday.

The highly revered Man of God clocks 60 today, Tuesday March 29, 2022.

On the Vice-Chancellor's delegation are the Acting Registrar, Mr Olusola ALADESURU, Head, Department of Mass Communication, Prof Olufemi Onabajo, Dean of Students Affairs, Dr Raphael Mordi, Acting Director, Academic Affairs, Dr Mercy Agumadu, the University Chaplain, Rev. Juwon Onasanya and Head, Public Relations, Mr Ayo Arowojolu.

Elated by the visit, the Cleric placed on record the sterling and positively charming personality of the Vice-Chancellor which he said has endeared him to the University.

"I am so touched by this visit in which you have brought the top echelon of your University. I must say the personality of the VC opened up this relationship and I only hope the relationship can be sustained", he stressed.

The Bishop explained that the Diamond Jubilee event is only to appreciate God for His faithfulness and to underscore the fact that, "I am nothing without God."

He added: "The purpose of the birthday is to convey our appreciation to God who has been out sustainer. Whatever we are, it is entirely God. It is a great privilege, not a right. Many things that we are today are not by rights but by privilege of mercy and grace".

Going down memory lane in the ministerial sojourn, Rt. Rev. Adekunle further disclosed: "God has been very kind to me. I thank God he has sustained me with strength. I never realized I am aging. I was enthroned at age 47. Now, I will be 60. God has spared our lives and we must return with thanksgiving and praise."

Earlier, Prof Babalola had commended the Bishop for his humane, Spirit-filled and quality leadership of God's people and prayed that God will continue to uplift him in all his endeavours.
