14 Newly Baptized Chrisland University Students Become Full Communicant Members of the Church
14 newly baptized Chrisland University students have been confirmed as full communicant members of the Church.
Their confirmation took place at the Pentecost Ordination, Installation of Canons and Confirmation event held at the First Church in Nigeria, Cathedral of St. Peters, Ake, Abeokuta.
The confirmation is a step to make further commitment to the Christian journey that began with their baptism and thus marking their decision to live responsible and committed Christian lives.
79 candidates from nine parishes, including Chrisland University took part in the Confirmation ceremony.
While addressing the congregation, the Archdeacon of All Souls’ Archdeaconry, Ven Adekunle admonished the newly confirmed members to provide proofs of change in their lives to others.
He challenged them to acknowledge Christ, proclaim the gospel, and be more committed to God and humanity in their service.
It may be recalled that nine of the candidates were earlier baptized which deemed them fit to be formally confirmed as Communicant members of the Anglican Church.
By this step of faith, the students subsequently renewed the solemn promise and vow made on their behalf at baptism.
The newly confirmed candidates include Jeremiah Owolu, Samuel Oladeji, David Adebayo, Eniola Sanyaolu, Lydia Aiwuyuse, Mary Temola, Dorcas Okeowo, Igoma Kaizer, Precious Owolabi, Blessing Ojo, Faith Onakalu, Oluwadarasimu Ogunseye, Favour Ama, and Annabel Adegoke.
