Chrisland University, Owode, Abeokuta, has held her 3rd annual matriculation ceremony for her newly admitted students for the 2017/2018 academic session.
The programme which took place at the main auditorium of the university had in attendance the Chancellor and founder of the University, High Chief Dr. (Mrs) Winifred Awosika, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. [Mrs] Chinedum Peace Babalola, members of the governing council led by Barr. Bankole Awosika, the guest speaker, Prof. Oladapo Walker, representatives of the ministry of education and other top government functionaries, the management team led by the registrar, Mr. Abiodun Lawale, staff and parents of the matriculants.
In his speech, the guest speaker of the occasion, Prof. Oladapo Walker congratulated the newly admitted students for another feat they have achieved in life.
Speaking further, the former World Health Organization (WHO) representative to Ugandan charged the students to put in their best in ensuring they become good and worthy ambassadors of their respective families.
Prof. Walker further enjoined the students not to be distracted by what they see in their new environment noting that their parents would no longer have access to what they do, now that they are in school.
He also admonished them to key into the different life transforming opportunities their new environment will offer especially in the area of vocational or skills acquisition programmes, emphasizing that they should see themselves as wealth creators and not always the other way round.
