Profile Information Profile Information
Dr. Edwin O. Okoro, Director CEDLEP is a seasoned Administrator with over thirty-five (35) years of experience in institutional administration in the University system from 1984 to 2020. Until recently, Dr. Okoro was at Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State, where he served as Registrar from 2009 - 2020 and disengaged in June 2020, after eleven (11) years of meritorious service as Registrar. Thereafter, he joined the service of Chrisland University in November 2022, as Senior Lecturer, in the Department of Business Administration.
Prior to that, Dr. Okoro had served at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) from 1984 - 2009, rising from the position of Assistant Registrar (1984) to Deputy Registrar (2000). He had also served as Acting Registrar, FUNAAB, on several occasions, between 2003 and 2007, as the most senior Deputy Registrar, in the absence of the Registrar.
Suffice to say that it was at FUNAAB that Dr. Okoro honed his skills and capacities in management of Distance Learning and Executive programmes, having conceived and birthed the proposal for the establishment of the Centre for Human Resource Development (CENHURD) in 2001. This Centre later metamorphosed to the Institute for the Development of Human Resource (INHURD), FUNAAB.
Similarly, at Igbinedion University, Okada, Dr Okoro was pivotal in re-shaping and strengthening the then fledgling Distance and Executive programmes of the University to its present enviable status of sustainability and progress.
