D. COLLEGE OF LAW: Professor, Senior Lecturer, Lecturer I, Lecturer II.3. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR ACADEMIC POSITIONS
The following represent qualifications and requirements for academic positions.
- Professor (CUASS 7). Candidates should be holders of Ph.D. Degree from recognized Universities with at least ten (10) years of teaching, research, and administrative experience in recognized Universities. Candidates must possess demonstrable competence to provide academic leadership in his/her academic discipline. Candidates must also be specialists in advertised fields of study with evidence of scholarly publications in reputable local, national, and international learned journals, plus registration with relevant professional bodies where applicable.
- Associate Professor/Reader (CUASS 6). Candidates should possess the qualifications as stated for Professors but with at least eight (8) years teaching, research, and administrative experience in recognized Universities. Candidates must have evidence of scholarly publications in reputable Local, National and International learned journals, plus registration with relevant professional bodies where applicable.
- Senior Lecturers (CUASS 5). Qualifications are the same as (b) above but with at least six (6) years of teaching, research, and administrative experience in a recognized university. Candidates must have evidence of scholarly publications in reputable local, national, and international learned journals, plus registration with relevant professional bodies where applicable.
- Lecturer I (CUASS 4). Candidates should be holders of a Ph/D Degree from recognized Universities with at least five (5) years post-doctoral teaching, research, and administrative experience in a recognized university. Candidates must also have evidence of scholarly publications in reputable learned journals, plus registration with relevant professional bodies where applicable.
- Lecturer II (CUASS 3). Candidates should be holders of a Ph.D. Degree from recognized Universities with at least three (3) years of teaching, research, and administrative experience in a recognized University. Candidates with a Master's degree must also have evidence of publications in reputable learned journals, plus registration with relevant professional bodies where applicable.
- Assistant Lecturer (CUASS 2). Interested Applicant must possess a minimum of Second Class in Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science (B.A/B.Sc.) and a Master of Arts/Master of Science, (M.A/M.Sc.) from a recognized University. Teaching and Research will be an advantage.
To be appointable, candidates must show evidence of One (1) scholarly publication and must be able to demonstrate potentials for academic leadership.
Must have evidence of registration for Ph.D. or almost concluding a Ph.D. programme in a relevant field.
Note:
All-Academic Staff should indicate the area of specialization for the Department or programme applied for.
NON-ACADEMICS
A. PRINCIPAL OFFICERS
Registrar
- The Registrar shall be the Chief Administrator Officer of the University and shall be responsible to the Vice-chancellor for the day-to-day running of the University. He shall also be the Secretary to the Governing Council, Senate, Congregation, and Convocation.
- The ideal applicant must possess a minimum of Second Class in Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science (B.A/B.Sc.) and a Master of Arts/Master of Science, (M.A/M.Sc.) from a recognized University with at least 14 years of relevant post-graduation experience in university administration or a similar institution, and should not be below the rank of Deputy Registrar. He/She shall be between the ages of 45-60 years. Possession of a higher degree and membership of recognized professional bodies such as CIPM, NIM, and ANUPA will be an advantage.
- The applicant must be a team player with good leadership qualities to inspire and motivate a crop of Administrative Officers. He/She must command respect, be ready to instill confidence, and relate with subordinates.
University Librarian
- The University Librarian shall be the Academic and administrative head of the University Library. He/She shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the administration of the University Library. He shall be responsible for the coordination of the Library services in the University and other teaching or research units.
- The ideal applicant must possess a Bachelors degree in Library Science with a minimum of Second Class Upper from a recognized University and a Master’s Degree of not below 60% average pass in Library and Information Science and registration with the Librarians’ Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN) from a recognized University with at least 12 years of university system/research institute experience with evidence of outstanding scholarly publications. He/She should not be below the rank of Deputy Librarian and shall be between the ages of 40-60 years.
- The applicant must be a team player with good leadership qualities to inspire and motivate others.
B. REGISTRY CADRE
Senior Assistant Registrar (CUATSS 11)
- Applicant must have a good honours degree from a recognized University in the Arts or Social Sciences. Possession of a Master’s Degree will be an advantage.
- Candidates must possess a minimum of Eight (8) years relevant post qualification work experience, especially in a tertiary Institution.
- Must be computer literate.
Assistant Registrar (CUATSS 09)
- Applicant must possess a minimum of Six (6) years relevant post qualification work experience, especially in a tertiary Institution.
- Must have a good honours degree from a recognized University in the Arts or Social Sciences. Possession of a Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.
- Must be computer literate.
Administrative Officer II (CUATSS 07)
- Applicant must have a good honours degree from a recognized University in the Arts or Social Sciences. Possession of a Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.
- Applicant must possess a minimum of three (3) years relevant post qualification work experience, especially in a tertiary Institution.
- Must be computer literate.
Confidential Secretary II (CUATSS 06)
- To be appointed, an applicant for this position must possess a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Secretarial Administration with at least a certificate of proficiency in computer operation from a recognized Institution;
- Have at least 5 O’Level credits including the English Language.
C. WORKS AND SERVICES CADRE
Director of Works and Services
- Applicant must possess a good honours degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, be registered with COREN, and possess a minimum of 12 years cognate post-qualification experience in a corporate organization, 3 of which must be at top management level.
Higher Technical Officer (CUATSS 07) (Civic Engineering, Quantity Surveying)
- Applicants must possess five (5) O’ Level Credits including English Language and Mathematics plus a good degree/HND or B.Eng in Structural Engineering discipline. Must have NYSC certificate and at least 3 years post-qualification experience.
- Must be computer literate.
Senior Architect
- Applicants must have a Master’s Degree from a recognized University.
- Applicants must possess a minimum of 3 years relevant post qualification work experience.
- Applicants must be Computer Literate and conversant with the latest trends in software, like Auto cad Revit, Archicad, Microstation, Maya, and other plugins and add on.
Technical Officer (Plumber/Electrician/Carpenter and Joinery)
- JSS 3 plus Trade Test II certificate and 2 years relevant work experience.
Driver/Mechanic
- JSS 3, Trade Test II certificate plus class ‘E’ Driver’s License and 4years of driving experience.
D. LIBRARY OFFICER CADRE
Librarian II (CUASS 02)
- Candidate must have obtained, at least, a Second-Class Honours / Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University, Master Degree in Library Studies of not below 60% average pass in Library and Information Science. Registration with Librarians’ Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN).
- Must be computer literate.
Assistant Librarian (CUATSS 07)
- Applicant must possess Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science with a minimum of Second Class Upper from a recognized University.
- Must be computer literate.
Library Officer (CUATSS 06)
- Candidates must possess five O’Level credits including the English Language;
- Must have a National Diploma (ND) in Library Science.
E. ICT UNIT
System Analyst/Programmer I (CUATSS 07)
To be appointed to this position, the applicant must have a relevant B.Sc./HND in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or any other related discipline.
Job Requirement:
- Work experience as a Python Developer
- Expertise in Django Python web framework.
- Good knowledge of LINUX Server.
- Good knowledge of PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases.
- Good knowledge of front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML5/CSS, Bootstrap, ReactJs, and VueJs)
- Knowledge of object-relational mapping (ORM)
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Network Engineer
Qualification: B.Sc./HND in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or any other related discipline.
Job Requirement:
- At least 5 years experience as a Network engineer
- Detailed knowledge of Cisco networking systems.
- CCNA certification or higher Cisco Certification.
- Advanced network troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to identify, deploy, and manage complex networking systems (like Ubiquiti).
- Good knowledge of computer maintenance, server administration, installation, repair, and troubleshooting.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with end-user training.
Data Entry
Qualification: HND or ND in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or any other related discipline.
Job Requirement:
- Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel, etc.)
- Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices.
- Basic understanding of databases.
- Good command of English both oral and written.
- Great attention to detail.
F. HEALTH SERVICES CADRE
Medical Officer II (CUATSS 08)
- Applicant must possess an MBBS with registration from the Nigerian Medical & Dental Council. Possession of a Masters's in Public Health will be an added advantage.
- Must have a minimum of six (6) years post-registration experience.
- Must be computer literate.
Nursing Officer II
- Good honours degree in Nursing or NRN/SRN Certificate plus registration with NMCN;
- Candidates must possess five O’Level Credits including English Language and Mathematics.
- Applicants must possess five (5) O’ Level Credits including English Language and Mathematics with B.Sc./HND in relevant discipline plus NYSC certificate.
- Health Attendant (Med. Laboratory Technician, Pharmacy Technician)
- Candidates must possess five O’Level credits including the English Language;
- Must have at least National Diploma (ND).
- Must be computer literate.
G. SECURITY UNIT
Assistant Security Officer (CUATSS 07)
- Applicant must be Ex-Inspector of Police or its equivalence in the Military and Civil Defence with at least General Certificate of Education with at least Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University and must not exceed fifty (50) years of age at the time vacancy for the post was declared and must be in security duties for at least five (5) years prior to the time vacancy was declared.
H. LEGAL UNIT
Senior Legal Officer (CUATSS 09)
- Applicant must have LLB, second Class Honours from a recognized University, BL plus at least Nine years post-qualification experience.
- Master’s Degree/Membership of Professional organization and Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University.
- Must be computer literate.
I. INTERNAL AUDIT
Internal Auditor II (CUATSS 07)
- Applicant must possess B.Sc. and any of the following professional qualifications: ACA, ACMA, ACCA, or Masters, plus three (3) years post-qualification experience.
- Must be computer literate.
- Public Relations Officer (CUATSS 07 - 09)
- Applicant must possess a minimum of five O’Level Credits including the English Language.
- Must have a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Public Administration or Mass Communication.
- Must be computer literate.
Information Officer I
- Applicants for this position must have a minimum of Second-Class Degree preferably in Arts, Journalism, Mass Communication, Social Sciences or English Language. Possession of a Master’s Degree will be an advantage.
- Applicants must possess a minimum of 3years post qualification work experience.
J. HALL SUPERVISORS
Hall Supervisor (Male & Female) (CUATSS 06)
- Candidates must possess five O’Level credits including the English Language;
- Must have a National Diploma (ND).
